The predecessor of AEROSTAR S.A. was established in 1953, with the initial purpose of providing maintenance and repair services for military aircraft operated by the Romanian Air Force. Since its establishment, the company has undergone continuous development, both in its core activities in the aeronautical and military equipment sectors, and in the production of goods for civilian markets. AEROSTAR S.A. operates primarily in the field of manufacturing. According to the CAEN code, the company’s principal business activity is: 3031 – Manufacture of civilian aircraft and spacecraft.
The initial mission, established in 1953 at the founding of the economic enterprise Aircraft Repair Enterprise (“Uzina de Reparații Avioane”), the forerunner of AEROSTAR S.A., is:
Art.1 – With the aim of supplying, repairing, and manufacturing spare parts and assemblies for aircraft and aircraft engines, producing onboard instruments, as well as manufacturing special aviation tools required by the Armed Forces of the Romanian People’s Republic, the Economic Enterprise Uzina de Reparații Avioane (“Aircraft Repair Enterprise”) was established on 1 January 1953 under the direction and control of the Ministry of Armed Forces, with its head office in the Vasile Roaită commune, Bacau district.
Art.2 – The enterprise referred to in Art.1 is organized as a first-rank economic enterprise and will operate according to the principles of prudent management, with its management staff appointed immediately.
The mission initially established remains relevant today, but under the new conditions following Romania’s accession to NATO and the EU, it requires adaptation and updating to meet AEROSTAR S.A.’s business development needs.
In the field of civil aviation, Aerostar is a supplier of aerostructures, components and assemblies for the global aviation industry, with end customers including companies such as Airbus, Ariane Group, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, GKN Aerospace, Gulfstream, Premium Aerotec, and SAFRAN Landing Systems, among others.
Aerostar, as a leading regional independent maintenance service provider, holds authorizations to perform MRO work on Boeing 737 aircraft series 300–900, Boeing 737 MAX, and the Airbus A320 family, CEO & NEO, as well as on components.
AEROSTAR is active in several programs for upgrading, integration and maintenance of military aviation and defence systems, being a first-rate provider for the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.

AEROSTAR S.A. este o companie care urmăreste să-și realizeze afacerile (portofoliul de afaceri) urmărind cu consecvență respectarea celor mai înalte standarde de etică în afaceri.
